It became a center of Vaishnavaites when Sri Ramanujacharya took shelter in the town during 12th century. The town hosts two ancient temples and several smaller heritage structures. The South Indian Blue Oakleaf. Butterfly which looks like a leaf. Its master camouflage is given away by the bright blue color on the upper side when it is flying. The South Indian Blue Oakleaf does show territorial behavior. This one was driving away other butterflies which passed by.
